Question 1: How does Abacus and Mental Math help my child in Primary School? 1. Improved Calculation Skills: Mental math trains students to perform calculations quickly and accurately in their heads, which is essential for everyday problem-solving. 2. Conceptual Understanding: Using the abacus helps children understand the concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in a tangible way, laying a strong foundation for advanced math. 3. Enhanced Concentration: Both mental math and abacus require focus and concentration, which can improve a child's attention span and overall cognitive abilities. 4. Boosted Confidence: Mastering mental math and abacus techniques gives children confidence in their math abilities, making them more willing to tackle challenging problems. 5. Enhanced Time and Stress Management: Early into the training, children will engage in speed training where children will practice managing their and speed while writing accuracy.

Question 2: Will my child become reliant on the abacus? After children are able to add and subtract simple questions, they will be introduced to the mental card. Mental card encourages children to imagine the beads moving. Hence, they will be engaging in mental math, reframing children from being reliant on the abacus.

Question 3: What is phonics? Phonics is a method of teaching children how letters and sounds work together to form words. Children learn to recognise letter sounds, blend sounds together, and eventually read fluently with confidence.

Question 4: At what age can my child start phonics lessons? Children can typically begin phonics exposure as early as 3 years old. Our programme is designed to suit different developmental stages, from preschool beginners to advanced young readers.

Question 5: My child does not know the alphabet yet. Can they still join? Yes. Beginners are welcome. We start from foundational letter recognition and sounds before progressing to blending, reading, and comprehension.

Question 6: How long does it take for a child to start reading? Every child learns at a different pace. Some children begin blending simple words within a few lessons, while others may require more time and reinforcement. Consistency and practice at home also play an important role.
